What is the difference between a chipmunk and a squirell?

My lil sister has these chipmunk and squirell stuffed animals and they look a lot alike. Is there a difference?What is the difference between a chipmunk and a squirell?

Squirrels are bigger and have a large fluffy tail. They come in colors ranging from gray to black Chipmunks are small and brown and ,have 2 white and one black stripe running down their backs and a short not so fluffy tail. I'm just going by observation, as they run around my neighborhood all day long.
