I have a computer with Vista and it has Windows Movie Maker on it. However, when I speed up my videos with the ';double speed'; effect, it doesnt chipmunk the sound?! How do I do this? What other programs could I use that are free and virus free?

Have you tried adding the Speed up, Double effect more than once to the video clip? You can add it several times to get the effect you are looking for.
Hint:
The stars appearing in the bottom left corner of the clip on the Storyboard view show how many times the effect has been added to the particular clip.
