How do I fix this so i can make chipmunk songs?

i got audicity to make chipmunk songs. and i made one normal song into a chipmunk song but then this happened:





when i play a song on it its just a high pitched squeek that lasts like a second.





i tried to change the pitch to lower but it just makes a low noise that lasts a second...





i tried changing speed but that doesnt work either.





please HELP!!??How do I fix this so i can make chipmunk songs?
You can change the Bit Rate.


When u download a CD to your computer, the CD (if bought directly) has the highest bit rate. Then when u transfer it to a mp3 file, the bit rate automatically decreases. because if it didnt, every song would take up alot of space. the computer does this by taking out these little noises that your ear doesnt even notice arent there. so if u decrease it even more, your ear will notice, and it will sound like a chipmunk.
