Will a chipmunk go in a trap if its already been trapped?

Today i caught a chipmunk in my live trap as i open the door slightly the sneak in a peanut he got out. Now im wondering will he go back in the trap? will I have to kill him in order to get rid of him? If so I really don't want to kill him so any suggestions on other humane ways of trapping him would be appreciated. Will a chipmunk go in a trap if its already been trapped?
Their brains are very small so my guess is he will go back in the trap, put it out and see what happens. Will a chipmunk go in a trap if its already been trapped?
It probably will go in again. I mean, chipmunk's brains are tiny so it might not even remember being trapped. Or maybe you got a genetically enhanced chipmunk who's too smart to fall for the same trap.

Who knows?
Most Likely!
