If i want to buy a pet chipmunk, where do i get one? Anywhere in Michigan?

I want to buy a domesticated chipmunk, i may have to find a breeder or something, but how do i find one? Is there anywhere else you can buy pet chipmunks? If i want to buy a pet chipmunk, where do i get one? Anywhere in Michigan?
Here's a good site with info on buying a domestic chipmunk: http://www.ehow.com/how_2059640_buy-pet-鈥?/a>

Note that it does not say it is legal in all states; in fact, it says to check with your local department of fish and wildlife.

Also, it warns against taking one from the wild, as it could be diseased and also it could bite. I would add to that the fact that keeping any wild animal without the proper permits is illegal.

I don't know of any breeders in Michigan. Most breeders of chipmunks, flying squirrels, and other small exotics seem to be in the south. Perhaps you could contact some veterinarians in your area to see if any know of chipmunk breeders. If not, they might have some chipmunks on their patient list, and could give your contact info to the owners of the little critters. Perhaps someone who already owns one might know of a breeder. If i want to buy a pet chipmunk, where do i get one? Anywhere in Michigan?
Chipmonks are wild and do not take well to captivity. Thats why you won't find them in petstores.
...consider leaving the ';chipmunk'; out in the wild where they belong... get a Guinea Pig... better yet get ';2'; and watch'um procreate...
