Can you keep a baby chipmunk as a pet?

My sister's cat got one and he may have a broken leg and not make it in the yard.Can you keep a baby chipmunk as a pet?
You can keep anything as a pet. Will it be a good pet? I have no idea. Seeing that I'm from Louisiana and we don't have chipmunks here I would eat it.Can you keep a baby chipmunk as a pet?
Yes you can keep it as a pet but it may die, ive been trying To catch them in live traps for weeks but now i have to use tactics and a co2 pellet gun to scare it. i dont want to injure it but sometimes i cant help it from unloading several rounds

My advice would be to take it to a vet and see how badly it's injured. And them release the little guy. There meant to be free. I know it sounds neat having one as a pet but, do you think its fare to put something in a cage thats meant to be free? It's great you guys cared enough to look after the little guy. I'm betting if you think about it you'll feel its best to return the little fellow to the wild knowing it'll be forever grateful.
Yes my family had two Chip and Dale it's best when they are young take it to the vet's and have a splint put on it and they can tell you what to feed it

im 59 years old know had one for a pet when i was seven....had for about a year...it caught a cold and died.......my grandfather had a pet squirell

i would reccomend taking the animal to a shelter.. if they can't help it, it may have to be put down.. but at least you'll know you tried to save it.. wild animals are not the best pets..

Wild animals should be free. Maybe you can take the chipmunk to a humane place for help, then he can be set free.
watch it for awhile, but let it be free as soon as possible. if it's crippled, the cat might get him. look at the question from the short term and long term. if you can help it in the long term than do it! if it makes the chipmunk handicapped and the cat will get it then don't keep it. it depends how well it can survive. a chipmunk is a wild animal and has insists to be outside with trees.
